1 h. Archaeology and the Way of St. James.
We start at the Church of San Antón which is the symbol of the city and is represented in its shield.
Inside we can contemplate the traces of the first period of Bilbao: remains of the city wall of 1334 and the temple that was built above it in 1366.
And on top of all of that stands the church today, a Gothic building that creates a bevel in one of its angles which prevents the beating of the “aguadutxus”, the freshets of the river.
We walk through the Siete Calles (Seven Streets) as far as the Cathedral. Inside we will find a typical Gothic church: three naves at different heights, a triforium, stained glass windows, an ambulatory… We end up in its peaceful cloister.
